Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Arab and Muslim Sciences

Istanbul, Türkiye – On Monday 22nd June 2026, Professor Mesut Idriz, Director of the Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Arab and Muslim Sciences (SIFHAMS), paid a special academic visit to Fuat Sezgin Institute at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University, where he met with Dr. Nihal Fırat Özdemir, Director of the Institute.
During the meeting, both scholars exchanged views and experiences on the history of Islamic sciences and discussed contemporary developments in the field. The discussions highlighted the importance of preserving, studying, and promoting the rich scientific heritage of Islamic civilization through scholarly research and international academic engagement.
Professor Idriz and Dr. Özdemir also explored opportunities for future collaboration between their respective institutions in various areas, including joint research projects, academic exchanges, scientific forums, conferences, and other scholarly initiatives aimed at advancing the study of the history of Islamic sciences.
The visit reflects the shared commitment of SIFHAMS and the Fuat Sezgin Institute to fostering international academic cooperation and strengthening global efforts in research, education, and the dissemination of knowledge related to the scientific heritage of the Muslim world.
