JOINT COOPERATION BETWEEN SIFHAMS AND MYONGJI UNIVERSITY IN ARABIC LANGUAGE STUDIES AND ISLAMIC SCIENCE HISTORY
Professor Mesut Idriz, Director of the Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Arab and Muslim Sciences, welcomed Professor Jeoung-Myoung, Kim , Director of the Institute of Middle Eastern Affairs at the Department of Arabic Studies at Myongji University in Korea, and Professor Ahn, Jang Kook, Dean of Student Affairs, at the Foundation's headquarters. The meeting was held to explore potential avenues for cooperation between the Foundation and MyongjiUniversity in various scientific fields.The two parties discussed opportunities for collaboration in the field of Arabic language studies for both students and professors at Myongji University, as well as enhancing cooperation in the history of science and Islamic civilization. Special attention was given to Professor Kim's efforts in studying the history of science among Arabs and Muslims, including his translation of many important books into Korean, which contributes to spreading knowledge about Islamic science history to the Korean audience.Professor Mesut Idriz emphasized the importance of strengthening academic collaboration between the two sides and the need to explore further opportunities that could support mutual understanding and knowledge exchange between the Arab world and Korea in the fields of science, history, and civilization.
