The Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Arab and Muslim Sciences (SIFHAMS), in collaboration with the Department of Family and Community Medicine and Behavioural Sciences at the College of Medicine, University of Sharjah, organized the 3rd SIFHAMS Scholar Talk titled “Developing Disaster Mental Health: Psychological Interventions and Commensurate Therapeutic Skills in Islamic Settings.” The session was delivered by Louis Downs, who outlined the fundamental principles used to train psychologists and counselors in providing crisis intervention and disaster mental health support.
