Nurse Development Program for Surgical Nurses
Course Overview:
The Nurse Development Program for Surgical Nurses is a focused skills-enhancement course designed to strengthen both technical and non-technical skills required in the operating room. The program combines evidence-based communication training with hands-on surgical simulation to prepare nurses for real OT challenges.
Participants will engage in interactive sessions on OR organization, active listening, communication, conflict resolution, and teamwork, followed by supervised practical training in open surgical suturing and laparoscopic instrument handling with box-trainer tissue suturing.

Course Objectives
By the end of this program, participants will be able to:
1. Demonstrate effective operating room organization and workflow management to maintain a safe and efficient OT environment.
2. Apply active listening techniques to enhance team communication and patient safety in surgical settings.
3. Communicate clearly and professionally within the multidisciplinary OT team, including during high-pressure situations.
4. Utilize conflict resolution and de-escalation strategies to manage interpersonal challenges in the operating room.
5. Perform basic open surgical suturing techniques confidently using suture pads and training models.
6. Identify and handle laparoscopic instruments, devices, and box-trainer orientation, including tissue-based suturing in a simulated environment.
7. Integrate learned skills to contribute to improved sterile practice, teamwork, and surgical patient care outcomes.
