As part of its ongoing efforts to expand its academic and research partnerships with leading global institutions, the University of Sharjah recently welcomed a delegation from the Institute for the Future of Education (IFE) at Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, one of Latin America’s most prestigious private academic institutions. The visit aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration in teaching, research, and the exchange of academic expertise.

The Mexican delegation, led by IFE’s Executive Director, Prof. Michael Fung, was received by Prof. Yousef Haik, UoS Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. During the meeting, both sides discussed potential avenues for cooperation, particularly in developing curricula that are aligned with global best practices and the integration of innovation in education to keep pace with technological and societal advancements.

Prof. Haik emphasized the University of Sharjah’s commitment to adopting cutting-edge educational approaches that respond to the rapid transformations in academia. He highlighted that collaboration with the Institute for the Future of Education presents a valuable opportunity to enhance the quality of higher education and address contemporary challenges in the field.

The discussions also focused on strengthening joint scientific research, particularly in the fields of educational policy and digital innovation in teaching. Both institutions explored potential research projects aimed at fostering innovation in education and examined possibilities for faculty and postgraduate student exchanges.

During the visit, the delegation toured several university facilities, including the Institute of Leadership in Higher Education, where discussions were held on potential joint projects in comparative education policy analysis, participation in academic conferences, and faculty exchange programs.

This visit underscores the University of Sharjah’s commitment to expanding academic collaboration with renowned institutions worldwide, contributing to the advancement of education and research in line with the highest international standards.
