University of Sharjah Unveils Gateway to Research 2026 Sparking a Medical and Health Sciences Revolution

The University of Sharjah's Research Institute for Medical and Health Sciences (RIMHS) has launched "Gateway to Research 2026", a vibrant annual forum designed to instill a culture of scientific inquiry among the University’s graduate students and new researchers in medicine and health sciences.

This dynamic event underscores the University's tenacious drive to position itself as a regional powerhouse in research, equipping a new generation of scholars to drive sustainable health and knowledge advancements across the UAE and beyond. By drawing in students, faculty, industry experts, and researchers, the gathering fosters idea exchange, spotlights cutting-edge projects, and builds vital academic and professional networks.

The program of the forum featured diverse scientific activities, including lectures delivered by prominent academics and industry experts on empowering young researchers in pharmaceuticals, quantum applications in medical research, and the role of AI in healthcare alongside its ethical challenges. In additions, interactive panel discussions delved into these frontiers, sparking lively debate, while a poster exhibition showcased and judged innovative student and researcher projects to fuel creativity and active participation.

The forum was attended by a number of prominent figures including Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, the University's Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Rafaat Hamoudi, Acting Director of RIMHS, deans of medical colleges, faculty members, graduate students, and researchers. It was also attended by representatives from pharmaceutical firms, quantum computing in medicine specialists, and healthcare service partners.
