University of Sharjah Concludes Global CEO Training Program in Partnership with Fudan University
The University of Sharjah successfully concluded the Fudan-Oxford Global CEO Program: UAE Module, an exclusive training initiative held by the University’s Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development in collaboration with Fudan University's Fudan International School of Finance (FISF). The program brought together 24 senior executives from leading Chinese companies alongside distinguished academics and experts from both institutions.
The closing ceremony was graced by His Excellency Prof. Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, Dr. Qian Jun, Dean of Fudan International School of Finance, and Dr. Asmaa Nasiri, Director of the University's Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development (CCEPD), alongside many faculty members. This event marked the culmination of the UAE-focused module of the global program.
Over two intensive days, the program immersed international executives in the dynamics of business and investment environments in the UAE. It highlighted the Emirates' remarkable economic journey as a model of sustainable development, economic diversification, and pioneering government innovation.
Titled "Entrepreneurship Journey: Exploring Opportunities in the UAE," the program featured a series of lectures and workshops delivered by professors from both universities. Four main themes were explored: a historical and cultural perspective on the Middle East and the UAE's political evolution, business planning and investment strategies within the local market including promising sectors and investor-friendly regulations, an analysis of the UAE’s knowledge-based economy and digital transformation, and cutting-edge leadership practices showcasing the country's adoption of artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies.
The program also provided applied discussion sessions where participants exchanged insights on entrepreneurial and investment prospects. These sessions fostered dialogue on collaboration between China and the UAE across innovation, clean energy, fintech, and entrepreneurship. The event concluded with a certificate ceremony and a campus tour, including visits to the Sharjah Academy for Space and Astronomy and the medical colleges library.
Dr. Asmaa Nasiri expressed great satisfaction with the program's success, emphasizing that hosting it reflected the depth of the strategic partnership between the two universities. She highlighted the program's role in blending academic knowledge with practical leadership skills to prepare executives who can anticipate and drive positive institutional change. She also praised CCEPD for its commitment to empowering leaders and fostering lifelong learning, calling the cooperation between CCEPD and FISF a successful model of international partnership supporting sustainable development.
For his part, Professor Qian Jun explained that China and the UAE share many similarities in economic development and openness. We chose the University of Sharjah as the first stop for our Middle East module to provide our participants with a comprehensive understanding of Middle Eastern history and economics. We also hope to have more opportunities for cooperation with the University of Sharjah in the future.
