UoS Holds Advisory Board Meeting for the College of Sharia & Islamic Studies

As part of its commitment to promoting its academic and societal role, the University of Sharjah (UoS) held an Advisory Board Meeting for the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies to discuss strategic plans and recommendations aimed at advancing the College’s academic programs and enhancing its research framework. These efforts contribute to community service and support institutional excellence.

In his opening remarks, His Excellency Professor Esameldin Agami, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, emphasized that the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies represents one of the University’s key academic and intellectual pillars. He highlighted the University’s commitment to advancing its academic programs in accordance with the highest international standards and reviewed statistics related to student enrollment and the academic programs offered across the University’s various colleges. The Chancellor concluded by stressing the importance of the Advisory Council in exchanging insights and expertise that contribute to supporting the College’s mission.

For his part, Professor Kotb Rissouni, Dean of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, affirmed that organizing this meeting is part of the College’s ongoing efforts to enhance its academic journey and develop its educational programs through the exchange of views and proposals. He also highlighted the most prominent projects and initiatives launched recently, as well as the key conferences and activities organized by the college for its students and faculty members. Furthermore, Professor Rissouni presented an overview of the College’s establishment and its mission, which extends beyond education to include community service.

The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the Al Ihsan Charity Association and Environmental Advisor to the Government of Ajman, and was attended by His Excellency Sultan Matar bin Dalmouk, Chairman of the Board of the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment; His Excellency Mirza Hussain Al Sayegh, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Al Maktoum Foundation; Her Excellency Judge Dr. Salama Rashid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Judicial Inspection Department in the Emirate of Sharjah; His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Al Hammadi, Project Expert at the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat; His Excellency Abdullah bin Khadim, Executive Director of Sharjah Charity International; His Excellency Nawaf Al Raisi, Manager of Community Support Services at Dubai Islamic Bank; His Excellency Mohammed Salem Al Junaibi, Director of the Emirates Red Crescent Centre in Sharjah; and His Excellency Moosa Tariq Khoory, Member of the Internal Sharia Control Committee.
