The tournament is organized by the Alumni Association in collaboration with the Sports Activities Section at the Deanship of Student Affairs and brings together 13 teams of graduates from different colleges and disciplines, alongside a team representing faculty members. The opening ceremony was attended by H.E. Professor Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, who watched the first matches get under way at the University’s sports stadium.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Agamy stressed that alumni are a vital extension of the University’s mission in society. He also underlined the University’s commitment to maintaining close ties with its graduates and offering them high-quality services through a wide range of academic, professional, cultural, sporting, and social activities. The University’s role, he said, goes well beyond graduation, strengthening alumni loyalty to their alma mater and supporting its vision to serve and develop the wider community.
Prof. Eid Kanaan, Dean of Student Affairs, welcomed the participating teams and urged players to uphold the values of sportsmanship and fair competition throughout the tournament. He noted that the University of Sharjah, with its integrated sports infrastructure, is always keen to open its doors to graduates and to involve them in the University’s events and initiatives.

She explained that the event offers a platform to reconnect alumni with campus life while introducing them to the expanding range of services and programs designed specifically for them.
