University of Sharjah and Ministry of Climate Change and Environment Join Forces to Advance Agricultural Research
In a significant step toward bolstering food security and agricultural innovation in the UAE, the University of Sharjah (UoS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment. The agreement was formalized during the second day of the 2025 UAE Agricultural Conference and Exhibition, held at ADNEC Al Ain from May 28 to 31, under the patronage of Her Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment.
The memorandum was signed by His Excellency Mohamed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry, alongside Professor Esameldin Agmy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah; Professor Ibrahim Al Hajri, President of Khalifa University of Science and Technology; Professor Ali Abdullah Al Naqbi, Chancellor of Khorfakkan University; and Professor Aisha Ahmed Mohamed Abu Shalabi, Chancellor of Al Dhaid University.
This landmark agreement aims to unlock new opportunities for joint activities and projects in the fields of food security, research, and capacity building. By fostering closer collaboration among the Ministry and partner universities, the memorandum seeks to leverage the collective expertise and research centers of these leading institutions. The goal is to advance research projects that benefit all parties and to strengthen capabilities in food security, ensuring that the UAE remains at the forefront of agricultural innovation and sustainability.
