University of Sharjah and Dongseo University Sing a MoU

The University of Sharjah welcomed a visiting academic delegation from South Korea's Dongseo University, led by Dr. Park Dong Soon, Founder and Chair of the Dongseo Educational Foundation, as part of its ongoing efforts to broaden international partnerships and deepen academic collaboration.

During the visit, the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation in education and research. The agreement was signed by Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, the University of Sharjah’s Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, and Dr. Park Dong Soon on behalf of Dongseo University, a leading Korean institution renowned for its achievements in education and scientific research.

This partnership reflects the University of Sharjah’s commitment to establishing strong partnerships with distinguished global educational institutions. One of the UoS’s main objectives is to expand opportunities for scholarly exchange and research collaboration to enrich both faculty and student experiences. By enhancing its global footprint, the university seeks to facilitate access to world-class expertise for its community.

The memorandum outlines multiple focal areas for joint work, including faculty exchange programs, student mobility and academic credit transfer, sharing of academic resources and relevant information, collaborative research projects, short-term training programs, and the organization of academic seminars and meetings.

University of Sharjah representatives at the signing included Dr. Salah Taher Al-Haj, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs; Dr. Bashaer Mohammed Mousa, Head of International Cooperation Department; Dr. Manar Abu Talib, Research Operations Coordinator at the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies; and Dr. Mohammed Al-Humairi, Head of the Technology Transfer Office. Dongseo University was represented by Dr. Jung Sun Kim, Executive Vice President, and Mr. Liu Choi, Director of the International Cooperation Center.

This landmark agreement is expected to foster a vibrant academic exchange and bolster research innovation between the UAE and South Korea.
