The University of Sharjah (UoS) has launched its Open Week activities and orientation sessions for new students and their parents for the 2026–2027 academic year. Held under the theme “Integrated Services … All in One Place,” the week-long program is organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs to provide new students with an opportunity to explore the University’s facilities and services and strengthen engagement with parents as key partners in their children’s academic journey. The event brings together representatives from various University departments and units involved in supporting students and ensuring a successful start to their university experience.

His Excellency Prof. Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, emphasized that joining the University marks the beginning of a comprehensive journey focused on building students’ personalities, developing their capabilities, discovering their talents, and preparing them to make meaningful contributions to society. He highlighted the University’s diverse academic, research, and cultural environment, which brings together students and faculty members from different nationalities and backgrounds and is founded on the values of respect, tolerance, cooperation, and responsibility. Prof. Agamy also underscored the University’s comprehensive system of support for student learning and success, which includes distinguished academic programs, advanced laboratories, and research centers, including the Artificial Intelligence Applications Center, Robotics Center, and Innovation Center.

He encouraged new students to attend lectures, actively engage in learning and curricular and extracurricular activities, and benefit from the expertise of faculty members and academic advisors. He stressed that university success begins from the very first day and requires clear goals, effective time management, and a strong commitment to academic responsibilities.

Dr. Amina Almarzooqi, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, explained that the Deanship of Student Affairs has prepared an integrated program to support new students, providing academic guidance, psychological and health support, and university housing services. She noted that the Deanship of Student Affairs serves as the first point of contact for students seeking assistance. She also encouraged new students to join student clubs, emphasizing that extracurricular activities provide valuable opportunities to develop their personalities and enhance their leadership and teamwork skills.

The Open Week features tours for new students and their parents of the University’s academic and research facilities, including classrooms, libraries, and central laboratories, as well as sports complexes and student centers. The orientation sessions include meetings with representatives from various University departments, who provide information about the procedures, guidelines, and services available to students. The program also features presentations highlighting the success stories of distinguished graduates who excelled in their respective colleges, along with competitions and interactive activities designed to engage both students and their parents.
