University of Sharjah Receives Academic Delegation from the People's Republic of China

His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah (UoS), received a high-level academic delegation from the People's Republic of China, led by Mr. Jing Hongyang, Director General of the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission. The delegation included representatives from three universities: Tianjin University of Technology, Tianjin University of Commerce, and Tianjin Chengjian University. The visit aimed to explore collaboration opportunities between Chinese universities and the University of Sharjah in various fields.

The Chancellor welcomed Mr. Jing Hongyang and the accompanying delegation, emphasizing that the University welcomes all forms of cooperation with Chinese universities across different domains. This is part of the University's strategic plan to build bridges of cooperation with international scientific institutions, focusing on community development through interdisciplinary applied research. The Chancellor also provided an overview of the University of Sharjah, including the number of students enrolled, and the 130 accredited programs offered. He highlighted the University's continuous progress in global university rankings over recent years.





During the meeting, the attendees discussed proposed collaboration opportunities between the University of Sharjah and the Chinese universities in Tianjin, which hosts approximately 56 colleges and universities. They also explored the possibility of cooperation in joint research projects, student and faculty exchanges, and Arabic language education for non-native speakers, showcasing the University of Sharjah's pioneering experience in this area through collaborations with various Chinese universities and institutions. Other potential areas of cooperation included organizing international conferences and participating in seminars and lectures. The Chinese delegation toured the University of Sharjah's laboratories and scientific facilities.
