University of Sharjah Hosts Business Administration and Communication Alumni Gathering
The University of Sharjah’s Alumni Association, in collaboration with the colleges of Business Administration and Communication, hosted its annual alumni gathering, attended by the University Chancellor, H.E, Prof. Esameldin Agamyu, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, Dr. Salah Taher Al Haj, and a wide turnout of graduates, faculty members, and students.
Opening the event, Prof. Agamy shared the University’s pride in the professional achievements of its alumni across a wide range of fields and leadership positions. He also stressed the University’s commitment to maintaining lasting ties with its alumni as partners in its journey of achievement, pointing to the advanced services and facilities it offers to support their needs, whether in pursuing graduate studies or sustaining their academic and scientific connections.
Welcoming remarks were also delivered by Prof. Jairo Lugo-Ocando, Dean of the College of Communication, and Prof. Ilhan Ozturk, Dean of the College of Business Administration, who praised the role alumni play in serving society. They said the UoS alumni reflect the very best of what the university stands for, in research and applied fields alike. Dr. Amal Al Ali, Director of the Alumni Association Office, followed with a presentation on the association's role in building an active professional network that supports career development, employment opportunities, and research collaboration between graduates and their alma mater.
This year’s gathering focused on inspiring stories as told by UoS alumni. One of the event's most compelling moments came from entrepreneur Fatima Al Muhairi of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who shared candid reflections on her professional journey, illuminating both the opportunities and the challenges of building a career in the entrepreneurship sector and offering recent graduates a frank and practical perspective on what the labor market demands.
The event also included an “Alumni Studio” corner, which served as a platform for recording success stories through brief, exclusive interviews with attendees. Prof. Agamy also met with several graduates holding leadership and supervisory roles in the Executive Master’s Hall, where they discussed avenues for professional cooperation and exchanged leadership perspectives, reinforcing ties of belonging and supporting innovation in management and communication.
