University of Sharjah Holds Advisory Board Meeting for the College of Business Administration

The University of Sharjah (UoS) held an Advisory Board Meeting for the College of Business Administration (CoBA) to discuss strategic plans and recommendations aimed at enhancing the College’s role in serving the community, as well as advancing its academic programs and internship opportunities to better prepare students for the job market.

The meeting was attended by Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Chair of the college’s Advisory Board; His Excellency Professor Esameldin Agami, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah; Dr. Salah Taher Al Haj, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs; and Prof. Ilhan Ozturk, Dean of the College of Business Administration.

In his opening remarks, His Excellency Professor Esameldin Agami, welcomed the Chair and members of the Advisory Council, expressing his pride and appreciation for their distinguished expertise in business administration. He emphasized that the College of Business Administration is one of the most prestigious colleges at the University of Sharjah, offering a distinguished range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs that meet the evolving needs of the labor market at both the local and international levels.

He pointed out that the University of Sharjah, as a comprehensive academic institution, provides an ideal environment for integrating the field of business administration with various disciplines, which enhances the College’s ability to prepare highly qualified graduates. He further highlighted the College’s strategic role in serving the community and contributing to sustainable development. He concluded by reaffirming the College’s full commitment to incorporating the insights and recommendations within an effective organizational framework to advance academic programs, enhance the quality of education, and foster local and international partnerships that support academic excellence.

Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Chair of the Advisory Council, praised the continuous efforts of the University of Sharjah in fostering academic excellence through the adoption of several strategic pillars, including digital transformation, the development of teaching methods, smart learning, research and innovation, and the expansion of international partnerships. She also reaffirmed the Advisory Council’s commitment to supporting the academic agenda of the College of Business Administration and contributing to the advancement of the educational system, aiming to prepare qualified graduates capable of leading the future with competence and distinction.

Additionally, Prof. Ilhan Ozturk delivered a presentation outlining the College’s recent achievements at both local and international levels, including new industry partnerships and community engagement initiatives. He emphasized that the meeting aimed to identify ways to enhance student employability and internship opportunities, align curricula and experiential learning with current industry requirements, advance social responsibility initiatives, and develop structured programs that encourage student volunteering, sustainability, and civic engagement.

 

The meeting was also attended by Her Excellency Sara Al Nuaimi, CEO of Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center “Sheraa”, His Excellency Mohamed Hilal, Founder and CEO of Mohamed Hilal Group; His Excellency Ahmed Al Qaseer, CEO of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority “Shurooq”; Her Excellency Hanadi Al Yafei, Director-General of the Child Safety Department; His Excellency Mr. Saeed Ghanim Al Suwaidi, CEO of Ghanim Al Suwaidi Holdings; and His Excellency Obaid Mohamed Al Salami, Businessman; in addition to several faculty members from the College of Business Administration.
