University of Sharjah Celebrates the Promotion of 21 Faculty
The University of Sharjah (UoS) has honored 21 of its faculty members with promotions to higher academic ranks, marking a milestone in institutional excellence. At the opening of the celebration ceremony, H.E. Prof. Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University, extended congratulations to the promoted faculty on behalf of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, President of the University of Sharjah under whose chairmanship, the UoS Board of Trustees recently approved the promotions.
In a warm welcome address, Prof. Agamy praised the faculty's outstanding contributions to scientific research, community service, and innovative teaching methods. He described them as the cornerstone of the educational mission and urged the promoted faculty to sustain their research momentum. Academic promotion, he noted, is not an endpoint but a call to greater responsibility, leading the University's research ecosystem and shaping its future trajectory.
Among those promoted to the full professor ranks were Prof. Waleed Abdelaziz Mohammed, Prof. Raouf Fareh, Prof. Mohamed Gamal Ali Arab, and Prof. In-Ju Kim from the College of Engineering. The College of Computing and Informatics celebrated Prof. Ali Bou Nassif and Prof. Mohamed Talal Bonny, while the College of Health Sciences celebrated the promotion of Prof. Khaled Megahed Abass, Prof. Dilber Uzun Ozsahin, and Prof. Heba Hesham Ali Hijazi. Prof. Shadi Adnan Al Shdaifat from the College of Law and Prof. Hatem Mostafa El-Damanhoury from the College of Dental Medicine completed the group.
Promotions to the rank of associate professor included Dr. Muamer Ali M Abuzwidah from the College of Engineering, Dr. Bouziane Brik and Dr. Mian Ahmad Jan from the College of Computing and Informatics, and Dr. Rania M. M. Al-Sabbagh from Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Health sciences honoree, Dr. Hayder A. Hasan joined Dr. Muna Salim Mohamed Alwasmi from the College of Law, Dr. Syed Ali Hussain from the College of Communication, Dr. Erhan Boan from the College of Business Administration, and Dr. Tahir Abbas from the College of Sciences.
