The Art Studio in the Deanship of Student Affairs at the University of Sharjah (UoS) organized a two-day exhibition titled “Three Pioneers, One Nation,” bringing together the work and creative experiences of leading Emirati artists to spotlight the enduring role of Emirati women in the arts. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Salama Al Rahoomi, Dean of Student Affairs – Women, in the presence of faculty members, administrative staff, and students.

The exhibition featured works by three prominent Emirati female artists: Dr. Najat Makki, Mona Al Khaja, and Salma Al Marri. It included 30 paintings spanning a range of subjects and artistic approaches. The works draw on Emirati heritage, Islamic decorative motifs and patterns, Arabic calligraphy, and elements of the local environment, while exploring themes of memory, place, the human experience, and social issues. The collection also reflects the artists’ use of a symbolic expressionist approach.

The exhibition is part of the University of Sharjah’s celebrations of Emirati Women’s Day 2026. It reflects the University’s commitment to supporting the creative initiatives and projects of Emirati women, strengthening their presence in the country’s cultural and artistic landscape, and highlighting their artistic journeys and contributions to the UAE’s vibrant arts scene.
