University of Sharjah and NCEMA Graduate New Cohort of Business Continuity Auditors

The University of Sharjah’s Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development (CCEPD) has celebrated the graduation of a new group of participants from the Business Continuity System Auditor program. Conducted in collaboration with the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), the program brought together 18 trainees from a range of national entities and institutions, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening the UAE’s capabilities in crisis management and business continuity.

Over four intensive morning training sessions, the course sharpened participants’ skills in auditing business continuity systems and managing emergencies. It focused on enhancing professional expertise in assessing institutional plans and strategies to ensure uninterrupted delivery of vital services during critical incidents.

The curriculum combined theory with hands-on practice, covering key topics such as internal and external audits of continuity systems, checklist preparation, document and plan reviews, evaluation of non‑compliance cases, and business impact analysis (BIA). Training also encompassed audits of emergency response plans and simulation exercises, aligned with NCEMA’s regulatory standards.

Interactive workshops and group exercises were central to the program, fostering institutional readiness and creating opportunities for knowledge exchange between participants. The sessions concluded with the preparation of recommendation reports and assessments of operational plan effectiveness, equipping graduates with the tools to safeguard essential services under all circumstances.
