The University of Sharjah has launched the 14th International Student Dental Conference (ISDC 2026), a vibrant gathering under the slogan "Inspired by Smiles, Driven by Knowledge"; a vibrant two-day event organized by the University's Dental Student Association. The opening ceremony was attended by H.E. Prof. Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University, along with vice chancellors, deans, faculty, and hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students, practicing dentists, and specialists from more than 30 countries.

The opening ceremony commenced with the UAE national anthem and recitations from the Quran, followed by a word by Prof. Agamy. He hailed the conference as a perfect embodiment of the University's vision, set by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah, that blends rigorous science with profound humanitarianism. Prof Agamy added that the University's mission goes beyond academic training; it shapes well-rounded leaders through student-led initiatives like this 14-year tradition, fostering global networks that equip graduates to compete internationally while embracing their human and societal responsibilities.

Acting Dean of the College of Dental Medicine, Dr. Sausan Al Kawas, noted the event features a varied program that includes specialist lectures, hands-on workshops, scientific debates, and research competitions, drawing over 600 participants from dozens of nations; a testament to the event's rising global prestige. She expressed hope that the lineup would sharpen students' clinical skills and inspire groundbreaking careers in oral health.

Dr. Ibrahim Bayramm, academic supervisor for the Dental Student Association, hailed the conference as a cornerstone of the University's drive to advance medical education and research. The slogan of the conference captures a core truth, he said, “knowledge fuels excellence in patient care and professional growth.”

Marwan Al Khatib, president of the student association, expressed his pride at hosting this elite 14th edition. The event creates a dynamic space for debate and idea-sharing, he added, priming the next generation of dentists to lead and innovate in healthcare.

Prof. Agamy concluded the opening ceremony with tours of sponsor booths showcasing cutting-edge oral health tech, alongside a bustling poster exhibition of student research spanning dental specialties. Participants raved about boosted clinical expertise, exposure to state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatments, and the university's trademark organizational polish and nurturing academic vibe.
