Turning to parents, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi acknowledged their sacrifices: "Behind every graduate lies a story of patience, behind every success a prayer, behind every degree a believing family." He closed with a charge to graduates: "Step forward with self-awareness and courage, innovate fearlessly, and serve your communities with integrity, for the world awaits those like you."
The ceremony opened with the UAE national anthem and recitation from the Holy Quran. This was followed by a speech delivered by H.E. Prof. Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University. "On this bright day, I extend the highest expressions of gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for his generous patronage, honoring the ceremony with his presence, and for His Highness's constant commitment to supporting higher education and scientific research. I also congratulate the graduate students and their esteemed families on this well-deserved achievement, which embodies years of diligence, hard work, and perseverance," he said.
Prof. Agamy continued, saying: "Earning a master's or doctoral degree does not mark the end of an academic journey, but rather the beginning of a journey marked by greater scientific and ethical responsibilities. Knowledge is not an end in itself, but a tool for building character and serving society. The true researcher is one who applies his knowledge to solve problems, advance knowledge, and create positive impact that contributes to the progress and prosperity of nations."
In addition, Prof. Agamy spoke of the institution's efforts and vision in investing in human capital, stating: "The University of Sharjah takes pride in being a regional and international beacon of knowledge, founded on a steadfast vision that regards science as a civilizational project and prioritizes investment in people above all else. This vision is inspired by the approach of its founder, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. You today are an extension of this honorable academic legacy and ambassadors of the University's values wherever you may be." He further advised the graduates to serve as bridges between knowledge and application, models of critical and responsible thinking, and seeds of positive change in their communities. He urged them to continue along the path of enduring scholarship with conscious determination and renewed hope, harnessing their acquired knowledge to serve humanity and build a more advanced and sustainable future, wishing them success and divine guidance.
