His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, received a group of Emirati students who recently returned from international academic placements under the University’s Emirati Student Scholarship Program.

The meeting was held Thursday at His Highness’s office at the University of Sharjah and brought together students who completed the spring and summer semesters of the 2025/2026 academic year at leading universities abroad. At the meeting, His Highness welcomed the students and praised their efforts during the program, wishing them continued success in their academic pursuits and future careers.

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi was briefed on the academic components of the program and emphasized the importance of scholarly exchange among universities. He noted that participation in international programs reflects the University of Sharjah’s growing development and gives its students opportunities to engage with leading institutions around the world, enhancing both the University’s global presence and the academic experience of its students across disciplines.

The meeting also gave students an opportunity to reflect on their time abroad. They spoke about the academic and practical skills they gained, the professional and scholarly relationships they developed with students from different countries, and the opportunities and challenges they encountered while studying in unfamiliar settings. They also described the cultural dimension of their experience, including exposure to different societies and ways of life; an experience they said broadened their perspectives alongside their academic learning.

At the close of the meeting, the students expressed their gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for receiving them and taking a personal interest in their experiences. They said his continued attention to students, particularly those studying abroad, helps strengthen the outcomes of the scholarship program and inform its future development.
