Strategic Pact between UoS and HBMSU Promotes Innovation and Digital Transformation
The University of Sharjah (UoS), represented by its chancellor, H.E. Prof. Esameldin Agamy, welcomed a special delegation from Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), headed by its chancellor, H.E. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar for the signing of a landmark memorandum of understanding. The partnership seeks to strengthen strategic ties, the exchange of scientific and knowledge-based expertise, and academic and research collaboration through innovative educational initiatives that fuel the knowledge economy and empower society.
Prof. Agamy hailed HBMSU's pioneering response to the Covid pandemic, praising its innovative initiatives during that turbulent period. This partnership between the two institutions, he said, marks a crucial step toward educational integration, equipping students and researchers with future-ready skills while riding the wave of rapid digital transformation to serve the UAE's sustainable development goals. The University of Sharjah, he added, prioritizes the establishment of partnerships with leading institutions to solidify its role as a knowledge economy powerhouse serving society.
Dr. Al Awar echoed the sentiment, framing the MoU as HBMSU's commitment to cutting-edge, innovation-driven education systems. The collaboration will spawn high-impact teaching and research ventures across vital sectors, harnessing shared expertise in AI, sustainability and future skills to benefit students, communities and workplaces alike.
Spanning joint scientific studies, cutting-edge curriculum design and shared research centers focused on smart learning and total quality management, the pact promises to attract research grants and tackle national priorities. It extends to pioneering AI analytics for institutional decision-making, green economy projects, entrepreneurship incubators and a joint taskforce to track progress and maximize societal gains.
Prof. Agamy signed the agreement for Sharjah alongside Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellors for Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Salah Taher Al Haj, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, and Mr. Shihab Al Hammad, Vice Chancellor for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Dr. Nouar Tabet, Acting Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and deans. HBMSU's delegation included Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Ankit, Head of Research, Dr. Mira Al Mari, Business Development Director, Mr. Ali Al Lanjaoui, and Head of International Relations, Ms. Elena Tarasova.
