Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi Presides over Graduation of 476 Male Undergraduates

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah, attended Saturday morning's convocation for 476 male graduates representing the fall 2025 cohort, held in Sharjah University City Hall.

The ceremony opened with the UAE national anthem and recitation from the Holy Quran. This was followed by a speech delivered by H.E. Prof. Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, who thanked H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for his visionary leadership, and his support of the University’s mission, and for outlining a roadmap for raising a generation that is armed with moral values alongside knowledge. Addressing the graduates, Prof Agamy said, "You stand at the threshold of true transition, moving knowledge from acquisition to application, classrooms to real-world impact, theory to tangible outcomes. Translate your learning into societal service and added value."

The University of Sharjah, Prof. Agamy emphasized, was never just concrete structures that house lecture halls but a promise to forge character through value-driven research solving real problems, with students as future-makers, not mere recipients. "I stand before you today as a father sharing a pivotal moment in his children's lives, the moment of transition from the seats of learning to the arenas of impact. You are launching today into the fields of life from a university of established stature, which has forged for itself a prestigious academic presence and achieved qualitative leadership that places it today among influential universities locally and regionally, with recognized global reputation," he added.

Prof. Agamy offered the graduates several pieces of advice, saying: "Preserve your identity while opening yourselves to the world. You are graduates of a global university at the heart of the United Arab Emirates, which blends authenticity with modernity. Carry your values and identity wherever you go, and at the same time, remain open to the cultures and experiences of the world, for the balance between roots and wings is the secret to success in a globalized world."

During his address, Prof. Agamy directed words of appreciation to the parents of the graduates, affirming that they offered steadfast support to their children and were true partners in their educational journey, through their patience, sacrifices, and moral and material support they provided that contributed to achieving this success. He noted that this achievement is credited to them as much as to their children. He also praised the role of the faculty members, commending their dedication in carrying the message of knowledge and instilling knowledge, and moral values in their students, emphasizing that they are the essential pillar in building generations and a source of pride for their genuine contribution.

Prof. Agamy concluded his speech by addressing the graduates: "We are confident in your abilities, optimistic about your future, and proud of you. Remember that true success is not measured solely by what you achieve for yourselves, but by the impact you leave on others' lives. Launch forth with confidence, make your knowledge a bridge to hope, and your humanity the hallmark of your journey." He congratulated the graduates on their graduation, praying to Allah to bless their knowledge and guide their steps. Speaking on behalf of the graduating class, Mr. Abdullah Yusuf Al Sayegh of the College of Business Administration said the moment marked the culmination of an academic journey shaped by learning, discovery, and lived experience. Graduation, he noted, was not simply about receiving a degree but about completing a demanding and transformative path defined by perseverance, intellectual growth, and human development. It was a passage, he said, from acquiring knowledge to embracing responsibility, and from lecture halls to the wider arena of life.

Mr. Al Sayegh stressed that this achievement would not have been possible without the vision and sustained support behind the University of Sharjah. He expressed deep gratitude to the University’s founder, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, praising his unwavering commitment to education and to human development. He also acknowledged the continued support of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi and his dedication to advancing the University’s mission and empowering its students.

In addition, Mr. Al Sayegh paid tribute to the academic and administrative staff at the University, highlighting their central role in shaping students’ knowledge, values, and critical thinking skills. Their guidance and expertise, he said, helped mold well-rounded graduates prepared for research, leadership, and professional life. He also extended heartfelt thanks to parents and families, describing them as the constant source of strength and encouragement throughout the educational journey.

Mr. Al Sayegh concluded by affirming that graduates leave the university carrying not only knowledge, but responsibility and deeply rooted values. He pledged that they would serve as committed ambassadors for the University of Sharjah in their professional and civic lives, contributing meaningfully to their communities and helping shape the future with purpose, integrity, and a lasting positive impact.

Following the speeches, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi personally awarded degrees to 476 male graduates completing bachelor’s programs across the University of Sharjah’s colleges, marking a celebratory milestone for students and their families alike. The graduating class reflected the University’s academic breadth, with 25 students from the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, 111 from the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, 83 from the College of Business Administration, 79 from the College of Engineering, 45 from the College of Law, and four from the College of Fine Arts and Design.
