Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi Honors University of Sharjah Health Sciences Graduates

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, President of the University of Sharjah, presided over the graduation ceremony for the College of Health Sciences on Saturday afternoon at Sharjah University City Hall.

The ceremony opened with the UAE national anthem, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. His Excellency Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, delivered an address expressing deep gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for his steadfast support and for honoring the event with his presence. Prof. Agamy praised Sheikh Al Qasimi’s commitment to fostering an academic environment that nurtures excellence, congratulating him on the graduation of a new generation of health professionals.

In addition, Prof. Agamy highlighted the vital role of health sciences in safeguarding community well-being, noting that the college’s diverse disciplines, ranging from health administration, environmental health, nursing, and medical laboratories to diagnostic imaging, physiotherapy, and clinical nutrition, form the backbone of any robust healthcare system. He recalled the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, and Ruler of Sharjah, who in 2004 founded the Integrated Healthcare Complex at the University. This pioneering initiative, he said, was designed to mirror real-world healthcare environments, bringing together colleges of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and health sciences, alongside advanced research, and training centers.

“True excellence in healthcare,” Prof. Agamy remarked, “is not about individual brilliance or sophisticated equipment, but about the seamless integration of roles and the harmony of a well-coordinated team.” He urged the graduates to become pillars of this integrated system, not its weakest link, and to embody the values of scientific rigor, professional ethics, and social responsibility. “You have chosen a noble path, one that touches the very core of human life and dignity,” he said. “We are proud to send forth graduates who are not only highly qualified but also ready to make a meaningful impact on healthcare, both locally and globally.” Finally, Prof. Agamy congratulated the graduates and their families, encouraging them to embrace lifelong learning and to remain loyal to the values of the University of Sharjah. He called on them to serve humanity with dedication and integrity.

The highlight of the event came as His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi personally presented diplomas to 423 graduates from the College of Health Sciences, offering his congratulations and prayers for their future success.

Representing the graduating class, Ali Nabil Al Ameri delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for his unwavering support of the University and its students. Al Ameri reflected on the diverse journeys that brought the graduates together, saying, “We came from far and wide, united under the shade of the University of Sharjah, where cultures and civilizations meet. Today, we stand together as proud graduates.” He also extended thanks to the UoS’s faculty and administration for their inspiring guidance, and to the families who supported the graduates throughout their educational journey. Al Ameri concluded by congratulating his fellow graduates and wishing them continued success as they embark on their professional and academic paths.

The ceremony concluded with Professor Qutayba Hamid, Vice Chancellor for Medical and Health Sciences Colleges, and Dean of the College of Medicine, inviting the graduates to take the professional oath before His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi. With hands raised, the new health professionals pledged to serve with unwavering dedication and integrity, marking the beginning of their careers as the next generation of healthcare leaders in the UAE and beyond.
