Sharjah Deputy Ruler Witnesses Signing of MoU between University of Sharjah and Sharjah Training Center for Airports Science

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah oversaw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday morning between the University of Sharjah (UoS) and the Sharjah Training Center for Airports Science (STCAS). The signing ceremony took place in his office on campus, with H.E. Sheikh Khalid bin Issam Al Qasimi, head of the Civil Aviation Authority and chairman of the center's board, and University Chancellor H.E. Prof. Esameldin Agamy putting pen to paper.

This agreement aims to integrate the University's academic prowess with the center's operational know-how in aviation, paving the way for innovative joint programs in aviation management. Key courses, such as air traffic control, will be seamlessly integrated into UoS curricula as core modules, ensuring students gain cutting-edge skills aligned with global standards. Furthermore, the partnership promises a high-tech learning ecosystem, leveraging the center's advanced simulation labs and air traffic control simulators for hands-on, industry-grade training. It also opens direct pathways to employment, including priority hiring opportunities, joint job fairs, and mentorship schemes to bridge graduates straight into the workforce at Sharjah International Airport and beyond.

Beyond education, the agreement included clauses that focused on establishing collaborative applied research tackling aviation's pressing and future challenges from air safety and sustainability to air traffic management and AI applications. Practical internships at the center and airport facilities will immerse students in real-world scenarios. Talent nurturing takes center stage too, with scholarships and sponsorships for top performers, ongoing professional development for faculty, students, and center staff, and interactive platforms linking alumni in aviation with industry experts. Regular leadership forums, seminars, and dialogues will sustain knowledge exchange, fueling lifelong career growth in this dynamic sector.
