The Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Muslim and Arab Sciences (SIFHAMS) at the University of Sharjah (UoS) received a delegation from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to discuss joint cooperation opportunities in academic and research fields. The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Mesut Idriz, Director of the Foundation; Prof. Jairo A. Lugo-Ocando, Dean of the College of Communication; Dr. Reyhan Sabri, Executive Board Member of the Foundation and a number of faculty members.

The delegation included Prof. Wang Lincong, Professor, Senior Research Fellow, & Deputy Director-general at the Institute of West Asia and Africa Studies(IWAAS), Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; President of the Chinese Association for Middle East Studies, China, Tang Zhichao, Senior researcher, and Director of the Centre for Middle East Development and Governance Studies at IWASS, , Wei Min, Senior researcher of IWAAS, Tong Fei, Associate researcher, Director of the Division of Security Studies at IWASS, and Wang Jinyan, Associate researcher of IWASS.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to strengthen partnerships and explored the possibility of organizing joint conferences and seminars between SIFHAMS and the Academy. ​
