In the Presence of the Chancellor of the University of Sharjah The College of Sciences Holds its Board Meeting

In the presence of His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, the College of Science organized a meeting of the College Board to discuss its performance during the past academic year as well as future plans in the coming period. Prof. Sherif Sedky, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, attended the meeting along with Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies; Prof. Nouar Tabet, Dean of the College of Sciences; and Prof. Esam El-Din Agamy, Dean of Quality Assurance, Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation

The University Chancellor began the meeting by welcoming the attendees and expressed his pride in the achievement of the College of Science during the previous years. He directed the College to continue its work on providing innovative curricula based on modern teaching methods that are in line with the student's interests. Then the Chancellor spoke about the five-year strategy of the University of Sharjah through a presenting several statistics that illustrate the position the University reached through its achievements at all levels, and the goals expected to be achieved at the end of the current five-year plan.

During the meeting, Prof. Maamar Bettayeb praised the College's research output in terms of the quality of published research, projects, centers and research grants, and then presented several statistics that illustrate the College's research activities in the global database Scopus, which reached 200 research papers published during the current year. Prof. Sherif Sedky also expressed his happiness with the general performance of the College of Science. Then Prof. Agamy talked about the status of academic accreditation for the academic programs in the College, and discussed a plan for the College of Science to participate significantly in the interdisciplinary programs at the masters that the University will offer.
