It is a hub of the basic medical sciences (Anatomy, physiology, Biochemistry and Genetics disciplines) in the medical program and other programs in dentistry and pharmacy colleges. Faculty takes pride in achieving excellence in education, research and community service.

The department of clinical sciences is structured to have regular faculty in Clinical Pathology, Clinical Microbiology in the College and clinical Faculty in all the disciplines in the University teaching hospital. In addition, there are about 140 adjunct faculty members in all the 4 teaching hospitals actively engaged in the training of the students.

The department of Family and Community Medicine and Behavioral Sciences is one of the three cornerstones of the College of Medicine. Our department is dynamic, multifaceted and multidisciplinary.
