Installing axiUm software in dental clinics of the College and Hospital

After 1 year of hard work on Implementation, axiUm software went live in the College of Dental Medicine and University Dental Hospital Sharjah.

axiUm is an advanced dental academic software currently in use in 58 of the 63 dental schools of the United States. The College of Dental Medicine, University of Sharjah is the first College in the Middle East implementing this software.
axiUm was developed specifically for the needs of academic institutions in addition to it being a platform for electronic record keeping. From chair-side to front-end, axiUm lays the foundation for successful operations and learning at academic institutions.

axiUm is a modular software for patient management, electronic health recording, student evaluation and grading, patient education, clinical research along with financial and administrative management. What makes it unique is that it was designed with the collaboration of multiple worldwide well established dental colleges, researchers, clinicians and computer software experts.

Using axiUm in our College and Hospital as an academic software tool allows educators to experience a seamless integration between student and course management tasks and give their students and their patients, high quality of evidence based oral health services from the one side and highly recognized education level on the other. With axiUm educators can not only continually monitor student progress, they can use the software program to identify performance problems early on and reduce dropout rates. axiUm also improves pass-fail rates at academic institutions, which can increase the number of students who graduate on a yearly basis.

Implementing axiUm enabled the College of Dental Medicine to foster collaborative relationships with other institutions. UoS College of Dental Medicine became member of CHORI organization (Consortium for Oral Health Research and Informatics). CHORI is a consortium formed in 2007 to share data to facilitate clinical research in dentistry. Dental schools such as ACTA University, Harvard University, Balor, Connecticut, New York, Indiana University and much more are members of this organization. CHORI members share data and accelerate relevant research initiatives that have a long-term positive impact on the quality of dental care and education.  This membership allows our dental college to establish credibility within well known dental academic institutes
