Welcome to the College of Dental Medicine of the University of Sharjah.
I am proud of our regional reputation for educational excellence.
By joining us, you will be exposed to an innovative and state of the art learning experience. We strive to develop graduates who are life-long learners and committed to the highest ethical standard. The University of Sharjah provides an excellent and stimulating environment for studying, working and living.
The impact of oral health on general health is well established, so now is an exciting time to join our profession. As a dentist, you are not only caring for teeth but also the oral environment and the whole human being. A dentist of the future should act as a physician, surgeon and behavioral management expert.
The college was established in 2004, with the assistance of the University of Adelaide, Australia. Since then, we have been constantly growing and our graduates are well sought after. Our college is now ready to embark on the next phase of growth and will shortly offer post-graduate courses in the various clinical disciplines and research.
With a pool of talented and committed academic and professional staff, we play a pivotal role in supporting the dental profession in the country. Our research activities focus on finding practical solutions to oral health issues and our continuing education program provides a broad range of short courses for the profession.
The University Dental Hospital of Sharjah is part of our college and is a state-of-the-art facility. It provides dental services to the local community and pioneers an outreach program through the use of a mobile dental clinic.
Our students are talented, highly motivated and resourceful. The University of Sharjah Dental Student Association is active at both regional and international levels. It is a training ground for future leaders of the dental profession.
While there remains much to do, we are prepared to meet new challenges and to lead change.
We look forward to having you onboard.
