Overview

The core programs and activities of the center are divided into three categories:
1) Education & Training

2) Research on Entrepreneurship & Small Business

3) Small Business Consulting Bureau​

 

1) Education & Training

Aspiring entrepreneurs, particularly Emirati entrepreneurs, will be given the opportunity to receive entrepreneurship training. In this context, the center will provide short courses covering the fundamentals of entrepreneurial process including business plan development, negotiation skills with buyers and suppliers, and legal issues in establishing businesses in the UAE. In addition, the winning teams of the business plan competition would also enroll in selected courses, which will equip them to successfully launching their ventures.

In complement to the education & training, students and aspiring entrepreneurs will also get learning opportunities while participating in networking events. The suggested events/activities will help in creating the awareness about entrepreneurship, shaping an entrepreneurial culture. It will also provide an opportunity to aspiring entrepreneurs to learn from the experiences of real entrepreneurs. The proposed/suggested activities include annual business plan competition, workshops & panel discussion, and formation of entrepreneurship club.


2) Research on Entrepreneurship & Small Business
The research members associated with the center are actively engaged in conducting research on entrepreneurship. Some of the research topics include female entrepreneurship, student entrepreneurship, and strategic entrepreneurship. Moreover, the center also aims to promote the research conducted by the students on small ventures in UAE.  


3) Small Business Consulting Bureau
Ongoing Consultancy Bureau will provide continuous advice/consultancy to selected start-ups (entrepreneurs). Faculty members will advise aspiring entrepreneurs on various aspects of managing new ventures. For example, market niche identification, human resource management issues, team building, developing financial statements, business plan preparation, marketing planning etc.
