Students Projects
  • Recent graduate Noor Amer presented her research project at the 7th Emirates Diabetes and Endocrine Conference in Dubai in the form of a poster presentation where she was awarded 2nd place in this category and received a certificate of recognition for her outstanding performance. The project was entitled: ‘Investigation of Resistant Hypertension in Emirati patients with type 2 diabetes’. The other graduate involved in this project is Hessa Qatami. Both interns were supervised by Dr. Bashair Mussa.

  • Winners for Undergraduate MD Students projects. The 2nd Research Week 2017Number One Winner for Oral Presentation: Ranya Mohamed Al-Jumaily, Amena Abdulkafi Abbara, Mohammad Ali Jabbar, Obaidah M. Mukhles Adi, Rawan Mohamed Ramadan: Sleep Patterns & Disturbances Among Secondary School Students in Sharjah, UAE. This project was supervised by Dr. Adel Elmoselhi

  • Year 5 student Ahmad Nugud won ‘best poster award’ at the 2nd Student Research Week, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El- Serafy.

  • A Student, Zeanap A Mabruk, received First position in the Inter-University Poster Competition in the  3rd current Trends in Biotechnology Conference-2017, Manipal University, Dubai, UAE,  for her MSc thesis titled: “ The role of ShcD and Ret interaction in neuroblastoma survival and migration”, under supervision of Dr. Samrein Ahmed

  • Year 5 student Ahmed Nugud were awarded in the 11th University Research Forum on May 16th 2017. The tile of Ahmed’s project was: ‘Vitamin D and Busulfan interaction in Cytochrome P450 activity and Cell Survival’ and he is under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Serafy.

  • Year 4 students from the College of Medicine also came in 2nd place in the same category. Those students were: Mohamad Shieb, Yazan Al Shaikh, Amal Al Ghefari, Sema Korururk and Zainab Hassan under the supervision of Dr. Bashair Mussa. The title of their project is: The application of Berlin Questionnaire and Epworth Sleepiness Scale to detect snoring, sleep apnea and day time sleepiness among adults in the UAE.

  • Year 4 students Suhaib Al Haj Ali and Abdulla Al Alool gave an oral presentation on their project titled: ‘Targeting Protein Arginine Methyltransferase using AMI-1: A Promis-ing Therapeutic Target for Lung Cancer’. Other students involved in this project are Ahmad Ihmaid and Reem Ab-dullah, and they were supervised by Prof. Qutayba Hamid and Dr. Maha Saber.

  • An oral presentation was also given by Year 4 students Ranya Al-Jumaily and Obaida Adi. The oth-er students involved in this project were: Amena Abbara, Rawan Mohamed and Mohammad Ali and this group was supervised by Dr. Adel El-Moselhi. The title of their project is: ‘Sleep Patterns & Disturbances Among Secondary School Students in Sharjah, UAE’.
  • Year 3 student Layan Odeh also gave an oral presenta-tion at this congress. The other students involved in this project are: Abdullah Malek, Muzan Alkhaldi, Atheer Tariq and Mohammad Al Fardan. The group were supervised by: Hiba Barqawi and the title of their project is: ‘Helicobacter Pylori Gastric Ulcer: Atti-tudes, Practices and Knowledge About Its Health Im-pacts Among Adults In Sharjah’.
  • Students from the College of Medicine attended and participated at the International Emergen-cy and Catastrophe Management Conference on the 5th March 2018 in the form of a poster presentation. The Year 3 students involved in this project were: Hazem Taifour, Mohammad Al-kasabrah, Farah Soukieh, Marah Al Turkmani, Ruqaya Ahmad and were supervised by Prof. Nabil Sulaiman. The title of their project is: First Aid: Knowledge, attitudes and practices in the Sharjah community. They were awarded ‘Best Poster’ at this conference.
  • Year 3 student Muzan Alkhaldi gave a poster presentation at the 5th International Family Medi-cine Conference and Exhibition held on the 28th February 2018. The other students involved in this project are: Abdullah Malek, Layan Odeh, Atheer Tariq and Mohammad Al Fardan. The group were supervised by: Hiba Barqawi and the title of their project is: ‘Helicobacter Pylori Gas-tric Ulcer: Attitudes, Practices and Knowledge About Its Health Impacts Among Adults In Shar-jah’. They were awarded ‘Best Poster Presenter– 2nd place’ and given certificates of appreciation for their outstanding participation.
  • Students from the College of Medicine attended and participated in the 1st Emirates Family Medicine Society Conference held in Dubai from the 11-13th January 2018 in the form of a poster presentation
  • The Year 3 students who presented their poster ‘Helicobacter Pylori Gastric Ul-cer: Attitudes, Practices and Knowledge About Its Health Impacts Among Adults In Sharjah’ at the conference were: Abdullah Malek, Muzan Alkhaldi and Layan Odeh. The other students involved in this project are: Atheer Tariq and Mohammad Al Fardan. The group were supervised by: Hiba Barqawi. This group was shortlisted for top three abstracts at the conference.
  • Year 3 student Amna Al-Wandi also participated in the Emirates Family Medi-cine Society. The poster title was ‘Non Communicable Diseases: Knowledge, Attitudes, Practices Among Secondary School Students in Sharjah City, UAE’. The research team involved are Amna Al-Wandi, Alyaa Al-Ali, Raed Dali, Yusur Al-Karaghouli under the supervision of Dr. Sara Shorbagi.
  • Year 4 student Abdulla Alalool from the College of Medicine also attended and participated in the 1st Emirates Family Medicine Society Conference held in Dubai in the form of a poster presentation. The poster title was 'Traffic Con-gestion & Long Driving Hours: Impact on Stress, Emotional and Physical Health Among Drivers in Sharjah'. The research team involved are: Abdulla Ahmed Alalool, Basil Yahia, Haya Khamis, Rawan Majdalawi, Reham Ainawi. The group was supervised by Dr. Anu Ranade.
  • Year 3 students also participated and their the poster title was ‘Salon-Associated Infections: Customer’s Knowledge and Practice Measures’. The re-search team involved : Esraa Elaraby, Ghida Maswadah, Dania Abu Zahra, Osa-ma Amira and Mohamed Alshoura and were supervised by: Dr. Nihar Dash.
  • Students from the College of Medicine attended and participated at the Gulf Thoracic Congress 2018 held 15th-18th of March 2018 in the form of various poster and oral presentations. 21 groups of students participated from the University of Sharjah
