Two Ph.D. positions in Molecular Medicine and Translational Research

​The Basic Medical Sciences (BMS) Department, College of Medicine at the University of Sharjah is inviting applicants for two Ph.D. positions in Molecular Medicine and Translational Research program. The selected applicants will engage in a highly dynamic and unique research project sponsored by Mohammad Bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC) with joint mentorship from Medical University of Graz, Austria and KU Leuven, Belgium. The main objective of the research project is to understand how spaceflight environment (microgravity and low O2) affects the human body especially Cardiovascular System.  The study involves the latest technologies in genomics, system biology, and clinical testing focus on Human Astronauts and rodent models simulating microgravity.

This is a mentoring position and the individuals will be supervised to plan, design and conduct research experiments, manage research projects and prepare reports and papers for publications and presentations.

Candidates must have an MSc degree in Biological Sciences (e.g., physiology, molecular/cell biology, or a related field) and holding outstanding grades and research accomplishments are encouraged to apply.
