Advances in Sustainable Construction Materials and Civil Infrastructure System

  • Dr. Salah Altoubat received award for distinguished faculty members in research 2016/2017.

  • Dr. Moussa Leblouba received the Sharjah Islamic Bank best award for distinguished research 2016/2017.

  • In response to the request from Directorate of Housing Sharjah Municipality, a seminar titled " Shear Strengthening / Retrofitting of Reinforced Concrete Beams using Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) was given by Dr Salah Al Toubat and Eng Abdul Saboor Karzad at Sharjah Municipality.​​​

  • Dr. Altoubat invited to speak at the 2nd Raikar International Conference and Banthia-Basheer International Symposium on Sustainable Construction Materials and Structural Systems, in the honor of the two distinguished scholars Banthia and Basheer, in December 2015.
  • Dr. Altoubat has joined the technical committee for the 9th RILEM International Symposium on Fiber Reinforced Concrete, Vancouver, Canada, September 19-21, 2016.
  • Dr. Altoubat was invited to speak at the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Convention, Kansas City, MO, USA, on the Shear Strength of Macro Synthetic Fiber Reinforced Concrete Beams:  Assessment and Applicability of Existing SFRC Models. April 2015.
  • Dr. Altoubat becomes a voting member of the ACI-544 committee for Fiber Reinforced Concrete (ACI 544).
  • Dr. Waleed Zeiada was interviewed by the International Road Federation (IRF) - Middle East & North Africa Chapter - as part of his participation at their regional congress and exhibition which took place in Dubai (October 29-30, 2017). Dr. Zeiada presented a research titled "Healing Based Approach for Perpetual Asphalt Pavement Design". The full interview can be checked here.
