Priority lines of research
The IRRG research group members are engaged in interdisciplinary research focused on the following lines of research:
  • Continuous detection and monitoring of background radiation.
  • Gamma ray spectroscopy of environmental samples.
  • Study of nano-materials using X-ray diffraction and X-ray fluorescence analysis techniques.
  • Application of material analysis using Infra-Red radiation.
  • Dose reduction techniques in radiology.
  • Establishing Radiation Protection Standards in the UAE.
  • Evaluate ionizing radiation exposure from various sources in the UAE.
  • Assess the variability of exposure rates due environmental as well as geographical conditions and factors.
  • Investigate the temporal trends in the contribution of different sources to overall public exposure.
  • Compare the measured levels to international documented international levels as well as established theoretical models.
