The College of Business Administration at the University of Sharjah organized an orientation meeting for the new graduate level students for the Academic Year 2019/2020. His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, attended the meeting along with Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies; Prof. Philip Molyneux , Dean of the College of Business Administration; Prof. Raafat El-Awady, Dean of the College of Graduate Studies; Prof. Hussein Al Tamimi, Director of Graduate Programs at the College of Business Administration; as well as a number of Department Heads and faculty members and students.
During his word, His Excellency the Chancellor of the University relayed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University, and welcomed the new students wishing them luck on their academic journeys and congratulated them on joining the University's Graduate Studies programs. He stressed that the University is taking pride in the increasing number of graduate level students and assured that the University's strategy towards graduate studies is aiming to support community service through practical applications, openly discussing suggestions and issues, as well as enabling students to access databases that aid the research process that provides applicable results.
For his part, Prof. Philip Molyneux welcomed the attendees and extended his thanks to the University's Chancellor for his continued support of the College of Business Administration, and especially the graduate studies programs. The College, he added, now offers an Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA) program, a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program, and a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) program. The College also has a highly esteemed reputation internationally as it is considered one of the top 5% Colleges of Business Administration after being granted the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) academic accreditation. In concluding his word, he encouraged students to communicate effectively with the faculty members.
Prof. Maamar Bettayeb then gave the new students a number of advices related to scientific research and stated that the University is organizing a number of workshops throughout the year to hone scientific research and publication skills. Following this, Prof. Hussein Al Tamimi gave a presentation clarifying the graduate studies programs' goals and objectives, the study plans for each program, and concluded the meeting by answering students' inquiries about the programs.
