The Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences and Technology (SAASST) at the University of Sharjah is preparing to host the 15th Gulf Astronomy Colloquium this upcoming September 28th-29th, 2019. The University of Sharjah and SAASST are partaking in organizing the 15th Colloquium along with committee members from the UAE Space Agency, the American University of Sharjah, Ahlia University in Bahrain, University of Bahrain, Sultan Qaboos University, and the University of Kuwait.
The Colloquium in its previous editions has been held in the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman. It is organized on an annual basis and began in 2001 with the aim of gathering all Gulf region astronomers to network and open new windows for cooperation in the field of astronomy. Participants have an opportunity to present their research papers, accomplishments, and opinions about astronomy topics during the Colloquium's technical and educational workshops and discussion panels.
The 15th Gulf Astronomy Colloquium's program includes amateur presentations and posters displays, professional talks with experts in the field, and an astronomy teachers workshop for astronomy enthusiasts and teachers.
This event is a unique opportunity for astronomy amateurs, enthusiasts, and professionals alike to meet, network, build their careers as well as share their strides in this field.
