The University of Sharjah's Clinical and Surgical Training Center (CSTC) continues to rise in the international rankings. After being awarded accreditation as a Center for Surgical Education by the Royal College of Surgeons in England last year, the CSTC now received international accreditation from the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).
For his part, Prof. Qutayba Hamid Al Heialy, Vice Chancellor for Medical Colleges and Health Sciences and Dean of College of Medicine, expressed his joy in receiving this recognition from the AAALAC. This accreditation comes as a result of the CSTC's commitment to high international standards of quality and animals care and use in humanitarian ways, as well as adhering to the standards and directions of this field.
Prof. Nabil D Sulaiman, Director of the Sharjah Clinical and Surgical Training Center, stated that the AAALAC is considered a significant accreditation to receive as the CSTC is the first center in the UAE to be awarded this honor. He also stressed that this accreditation reflects the high standards of quality of the Center in using laboratory animals according to the international standards.
