The University of Sharjah's Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development organized the graduation ceremony of the Professional Diploma in Data Management, Statistical Analysis and Synthesis of Results in collaboration with the Sharjah Police Headquarters. Joining the celebration were 26 trainees from various departments and general directorates at Sharjah Police.
The graduation ceremony took place at the University of Sharjah Main Building and in the attendance of H.E. Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police; H.E. Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah; Brigadier General Abdullah Ibrahim Bin Nassar, Director of Sharjah Police Training Institute at Sharjah Police; Prof. Radhi Al Zubaidi, Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development; and Tareq Al-Midfa, Director of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief.
During his address on the occasion, the University of Sharjah Chancellor assured that the University since its establishment by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah, has been working continuously on serving and advancing the local community. It has now arrived, he added, at higher ranks among prestigious international universities thanks to the support of His Highness. He also commended the efforts of the police trainees and those working on executing this program as well as the support of the support of the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police for scientific and academic development of the Headquarters departments. This is with the aim of upgrading the services of the Sharjah Police departments.
For his part, H.E. Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi extended his thanks to the University of Sharjah Chancellor and family and added that we are lucky in the Emirate of Sharjah to have the support and care of High Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for educational aspects. He assured that Sharjah Police gives special attention to the data management and statistical analysis process. This is due to its importance in accurate decision making; therefore, the program graduates will each in their positions to provide decision makers with statistical analysis-based information and results synthesis to ensure correct decisions are made. Ending his word, the Major General thanked the graduates for committing to the program and wished them continued success.
Prof. Radhi Al Zubaidi stated that the program included three levels that aim to increase the competencies of employees directly related to research and statistical analysis. This is to ensure that they are able to design tools that collect data for various topics and analyzing them in SPSS. This is through teaching them how to describe the studied phenomenon by using descriptive statistical methods and advanced analyses as well as some parametric statistics that contribute to advancing the skills of the trainees. The program also largely focused, he added, on applied education as each trainee submitted a research project related to their work.
