The University of Sharjah Chancellor Inspects its Admission Process

Chancellor of the University of Sharjah Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy inspected the admission and welcoming processes of high school graduates applying into the UoS academic programs at the Admission Department. The University currently offers 96 accredited academic programs that are expected to increase to 120 programs by next year.

During his tour accompanied by Mr. Majid Al-Jarwan, Vice Chancellor for Public Relations; Mr. Khalid Al Rabwi, Director of Public Relations Department; and Ms. Aisha Bukhatir, Director of Admission Department; the Chancellor reviewed the Admission Department's procedures for accepting new applications from students and their guardians, as well as the staff handling the applications using new state-of-the-art technology at the Department to ensure the ease and seamlessness of applying into the University of Sharjah.

The Director of the Admission Department stressed that the processes followed by the Department for accepting and reviewing applications into the University's various colleges improve every year as the Department prepares and trains its staff to use the latest technologies in reviewing the students' applications. She added, that the number of applicants into the University since the start of the admission period has reached 8158 applicants into the various colleges, of whom 4121 students met the admission requirements and the admitted students will be selected following the University's competitive admission requirements based on the students' GPA. The admission period, she continued, is still open until the end of August for some programs.

Ms. Aisha Bukhatir indicated that the English language proficiency tests will be on the 23rd and the 29th of August, 2018, for the TOEFL exam, and on August 11th for the IELTS (Academic) exam for students admitted into the English-taught programs at the University. She also added that the Mathematics and Physics placement tests will be on the 27th, 28th, and 29th of August.
