Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, welcomed a student delegation from various disciplines and academic levels from Liverpool John Moores University. This visit comes within the student exchange program, which is one of the cooperation areas that have been stipulated in the cooperation agreement between the two Universities. Attending the meeting were Prof. Radhi Al Zubaidi, Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development at the University, and Hisham Abdul Halim Mahmoud, Head of Student Activities Section and Scouts Supervisor at the Deanship of Male Students Affairs.
The Chancellor of the University welcomed the delegation and briefed them on the University of Sharjah in terms of the number of colleges, the variety of the programs offered, the number of students enrolled, and especially its cultural diversity. He also addressed the various branches of the University – widespread across the UAE, the Medical Center of Excellence as well as its colleges and medical and scientific services that qualified it to be the largest medical campus in the region, and the research institutions, centers of excellence, and extracurricular activities at the University of Sharjah.
In his remarks, prof. Radhi Al Zubaidi stated that the student exchange program is a way to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two universities. He added that Liverpool John Moores University will receive a student delegation from the University of Sharjah in the near future.
During their visit, the delegation will be introduced to the facilities of the University including the various colleges, institutions, centers, central laboratories, libraries, College of Communications studios, sport complexes, and the students' extracurricular initiatives at the Deanship of Students' Affairs. In addition to visits to the Sharjah Center for Space and Astronomy Science (SCASS) as well as tour the cultural and tourist landmarks in Sharjah and Dubai.
