The exhibition was held at the University of Sharjah main building as well as the College of Engineering women's and men's campuses' buildings.
Following the official inauguration of the exhibition, His Highness took a look at the various projects presented – approximately 124 graduation projects – by students from the following College of Engineering departments: Architectural Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, and Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering.
His Highness listened to the students explaining their various graduation projects in terms of the idea and inspiration behind the project, its scientific theory, its applications and significance, and the materials used in assembling it. He also listened to the students sharing the benefits resulting from applying their projects, their environmental impacts and consciousness, and the possibility of applying them and benefiting from them as innovative and futuristic scientific contributions.
During his tour of the exhibition, His Highness also observed the applications of the students' applied research projects and their design models related to the local and national industrial and architectural development sectors in the UAE and internationally. The students' projects in this area represent the modern models for future innovations and present creative and advanced ideas especially for developing social services and infrastructure. Those students' projects reflect the outstanding level of the University of Sharjah and the College of Engineering programs, specifically.
His Highness was also familiarized with the various innovations and applications behind the students' ideas and projects as well as their future visions for finding solutions in the engineering field. The projects covered topics such as building smart building for various uses, modern roads systems and lighting, electricity and air conditioning control systems, producing and providing energy, development of high-rise buildings, advancement of sewerage systems, creative solutions for clean drinking water, fire extinguishing systems controls and management, risk and crisis management solutions, radiation uses and their benefits in precise imaging, and latest innovations in photovoltaic systems, water desalination, solar power generation, amongst others.
The College of Engineering graduating students focused in their projects on advancing various engineering systems in different fields as well as providing innovative solutions for many of the social challenges. They also focused on providing ideas for the major industries and services projects from all related sectors. The students based their research on applying their acquired engineering problem-solving skills and knowledge during their studies at the University of Sharjah for real-world challenges.
