His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, President of the University of Sharjah, inaugurated the graduation projects exhibition "Exit Show 13" of the College of Fine Arts and Design.
His Highness toured the four sections of the exhibition: Fine Arts, Fashion Design with Textile, Interior Architecture and Design, and Graphic Design and Multimedia, and examined the creations of the graduating students that represent the experience, skills, and knowledge they acquired during their studies. His Highness listened to the students and faculty members explaining the inspirations and meanings behind the projects exhibited during the show.
The tour started in the fine arts section of the exhibition, which stood out for the modern and creative inspirations behind the students' projects that used various methods and tools to produce their work. The Fine Arts program at the University of Sharjah aims to provide a contemporary artistic environment that enables the preparation of a creative generation of artists through programs that assist in gaining the knowledge and critical thinking skills needed to create their art.
At the Fine Arts section of the exhibition, His Highness chose the project by student Aisha Al Jaberi, "Round Rocks," to be used at the Ar Rufaysah Dam Rest stop in Khor Fakkan, which His Highness inaugurated in mid-April. The project represents the origins of the student who grew in the mountainous, rocky areas, which helped shape her strong, resilient personality that pushed her to pursue her studies and reflecting her thoughts in her art.
His Highness moved on to look at the work of graduate students from the Fashion Design with Textile department, which seeks through its educational process to prepare students for a competitive and multifaceted profession. The process revolves around the synthesis of creative and technical design skills and the transformation of ideas into fashion pieces.
Moving to the Interior Architecture and Design section, His Highness took a look at the projects that reflect the extent to which students acquire advanced knowledge and skills in understanding and applying the design process in all its stages – from research, programming, interior planning, and the selection of decorative and aesthetic elements, furniture, and others.
His Highness concluded his tour of the "Exit Show 13" exhibition for the graduating students of the College of Fine Arts and Design by examining the projects of the Graphic Design and Multimedia program students. This program aims to foster the development of graphic designers who are confident in their skills and capable, as well as critical thinkers and able to have a presence in the global scene. The program also helps students develop a creative identity and technical and professional skills.
The exhibition aims to place the creative and innovative projects of the students in the spotlight, which works to increase their self-confidence and inspires them. It also provides them with a platform to communicate and exchange knowledge and experience with the exhibition visitors, experts, and faculty members.
The College of Fine Arts and Design focuses on developing and nurturing artistic creativity and expression in an educational environment that fosters students' personal growth, facilitates knowledge acquisition and development, and provides them with opportunities to develop, exhibit, and invest in their talents.
