Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources celebrated the graduation of the 2nd batch of trainees at the professional diploma program, organized in cooperation with the University of Sharjah (UoS), on Wednesday 20/12/2017. The graduation ceremony was attended by, H.E. Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim Al Nuaimi, Member of Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the Directorate of Human Resources (HR); and Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah (UoS). The programs are part of the Directorate's training plan to improve its staff. The training plan aims at preparing a generation of qualified employees, equipped with sufficient knowledge and skills to perform their duties with a high level of quality and professionalism, and according to the best world practices.
Attended the ceremony, H.E. Thabit Salem Al Tareefi Al Shamsi, Director General of Sharjah Municipality; Prof. Elsiddig Ahmed ElMustafa El Sheikh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Mr. Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Director of Branches Affairs Department – Directorate of HR; Prof. Radhi Al Zubaidi, Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development; Mrs. Nora Al Shamsi, Head of Initiatives and Projects at Sharjah Children's Centers; and a number of directors and officials of Sharjah Govt. departments and authorities.
The ceremony, which was held at UoS' Al Razi Auditorium, started with honoring the executing authority; the University of Sharjah (UoS), and participating authorities, mainly, Sharjah Municipality. H.E. Thabit Salem Al Tareefi Al Shamsi, Director General of Sharjah Municipality, received the commemorative shield on the municipality's behalf.
H.E. Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim Al Nuaimi, Member of Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the Directorate of Human Resources (HR); accompanied by Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah (UoS), honored the graduated trainees. The program included three professional diplomas: Inspector's Professional Diploma for Sharjah, Al Bataeh, Al Hamriyah, and Mleiha municipalities' staff; Professional Diploma in Human Resources Management for employees from Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, Sharjah Customs, Sharjah Directorate of Housing, Sharjah Directorate of Public Works, Sharjah Commerce & Tourism Development Authority, Sharjah e-Government, Sharjah Museums Authority, and Family Development Centers; and Professional Diploma in Ecotourism for Sharjah Environment and Protected Areas Authority staff.
The diplomas intended to train and develop employees' skills on business basics through a specialized professional program that prepares the trainee on performing their duties professionally. The Inspector's Diploma engaged several key courses on the principles of biology, professional health and safety, ecological legislations and laws, food and environmental inspection, work ethics, and legal control. The program comprised of 130 accredited training hours directed at 25 trainees.
Furthermore, the Professional Diploma in Human Resources Management tackled focal points such as, modern concepts and approaches to human resources, mechanisms of job description and analysis, career identification and planning, staff selection, interviewing and recruitment examinations, human resource development and training, identification of training needs, payroll and wage systems and their applications, governance and management systems, and performance analysis and indicators. The program consisted 120 accredited training hours directed at 22 trainees.
The Professional Diploma in Ecotourism, which is comprised of 130 accredited training hours given to 21 employees, approached several topics including, ecology and natural science, tourism and economy, general health and ecology, ecological and tourism laws, interaction skills with tourists, ecological tourism and sustainability, tourism management.
H.E. Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim Al Nuaimi, Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, and Nora Al Shamsi honored the trainees of the Future Engineer program, which is organized by the UoS' Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development for Sharjah Children's Centers - The 'Quarter of a Century Foundation' for Creating Leaders and Innovators. The program comprised of 50 training hours directed at 25 children from various branches of Sharjah Children's Centers.
In his speech, H.E. Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, welcomed the audience. He stated, "Today, we are proud of the second batch of professional diploma graduates. We wish them continuous success and achievements in the in their career. We are aware of the significance of developing the human element and it is one of our top priorities founded by Sharjah Government's strategies that stem from the noble vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for the development of knowledge, competencies and skills of national resources to cope with local and international challenges and breakthroughs".
"In light of the continuous changes, we realize the necessity to prepare a capable human resource, able to address such changes. We are keen on training employees, equip them with key knowledge, skills and expertise that improve their career performance and improve competence and productivity", added H.E. Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim Al Nuaimi.
H.E. concluded his speech by expressing his gratitude and appreciation to the University of Sharjah (UoS) and its Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development, which is one of the top scientific and cultural monuments worldwide and an expert on training human capabilities able to cope challenges. He also thanked all government authorities that participated in the professional diploma programs and the trainees.
Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah (UoS), stated: "We wish to express the highest congratulations and commendations to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, on the graduation of this blessed group of Emirati builders who represent the cornerstone of UAE's development plans according to the highest world standards. His Highness has recently signed on the memorandums of the strategic five-year plans focused on sustainable development of national human resources between the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization, Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources and the University of Sharjah, as part of His Highness's attention to vocational and professional development of Emirati citizens, employees and jobseekers. Such a noble attention has been keen on supporting, directing and sponsoring policies and programs that train and prepare national human resources to enter the job market firmly and confidently, which reflects His Highness's approach to cope with modern and civilized development led by His Highness to reach new frontiers of national development equipped with modern tools".
Commenting on the graduation of Future Engineer program children, Nora Al Shamsi, Head of Initiatives and Projects at Sharjah Children's Centers, stated: "We are proud today to honor the children who underwent the Future Engineer program, in presence of H.E. Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadim Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Directorate of Human Resources, during the graduation ceremony of UoS' professional diploma program. The children have completed the two-month training course on engineering, which was organized by the Sharjah Children's Centers - The 'Quarter of a Century Foundation' for Creating Leaders and Innovators, and in cooperation with the UoS.
Nora Al Shamsi added, the Future Engineer Program is part of the newly established activities that seek to improve the children's creative skills in line with the strategic plan of Sharjah Children's Centers. These activities shed the light on the child's innovative energy by providing a motivating environment to discover and nurture skills and equip the children with various competencies fitting their competencies, to prepare a young generation armored with diverse engineering skills.
