The 2nd Middle East Conference on Pre-Mixed Advanced Dry Materials will also be hosted by the University of Sharjah on 26th of November.
This was announced by H.E. Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, during a press conference organized at UoS. Dr. Salah Taher, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, opened the press conference by welcoming the attendees, appreciating their efforts and thanking the sponsors and stakeholders. He also wished the conferences would give recommendations and outcomes that serve the concerned communities.
In his speech, the Chancellor welcomed the audience and praised the role of national and international enterprises that will participate in and support such conferences. He also expressed his happiness and pride to organize these conferences at the University of Sharjah, which is a comprehensive and integrated university founded by its president H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to be a national, regional and developmental project that strives to serve the community and its development. He noted that UoS commenced its five-year strategic plan three years ago. The plan focuses on solid scientific inquiry that serves the community by giving guidance to postgraduate students to solve the problems of UAE community through a plethora of applied and multi-disciplinary research in collaboration with private and public institutions, enterprises and authorities in which they work. This made the University of Sharjah one of the best universities in the UAE, in terms of community service, staff training, launch of several professional diplomas and hosting major international conferences that address various community issues.
Prof. Elsiddig Ahmed ElMustafa El Sheikh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, stressed that the "Towards a Unified Law of Contracts under the Provisions of the Arab Judiciary" conference enables the sustainable partnership agreement between the University of Sharjah and the International Institute of Law of the French-speaking Countries (IDEF). The three-day conference is focused on preparing a unified Arabic law on contracts through action teams that examine the frameworks and dimensions of such law in several Arab States. The conference will reveal the approaches of the Arabic judiciary in the implementation of Arabic laws on contracts, whether are civil or commercial, added Prof. Elsiddig.
Prof. Qutayba Hamid Al Heialy, Vice Chancellor for Medical Colleges and Health Sciences, Dean of College of Medicine and Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the 5th Emirati German Congress in Medicine, noted that the conference is organized in partnership with Sharjah Health Authority, Sharjah Tourism and Commerce Development Authority, Sharjah Media Corporation, the University of Lübeck, and BG Hospital Hamburg.
The remarkable aspect of this year's edition of the conference, is the focus on diseases that concern the community such as: diabetes, cancer, pediatric cancer in particular, autoimmune diseases, and asthma, added Prof. Qutayba. He also overviewed the scientific points of the conference, stating that "The conference will address two scientific aspects; the first is the basic science and research program that examines such diseases by a number of physicians and scientists from UoS and the Emirates, and German physicians, and the other aspect will be a clinical program that studies and discusses cancers of the intestines". "A practical workshop on manual surgeries and another workshop on dentistry and dental surgery will be held to benefit from the German expertise on such issues", added Prof. Qutayba.
Professor Mufid Al Samarai, Senior Advisor at Sharjah Research Academy and President of MEDMA, thanked the University of Sharjah for hosting the conference and praising its role in the service and development of the community. He also noted that the 12th Middle East Conference on Pre-Mixed Advanced Dry Materials examines and discusses premixed dry materials in comparison with materials currently used in construction. Around 20 billion US Dollars are spent every year on the construction sector, and about 10 billion on restoration, maintenance and development. Therefore, concrete is the largest air pollutant, as 7% of the carbon dioxide emitted into the air comes from the production cement. The significance of the conference emerges from the fact that premixed dry materials are now one of the latest breakthroughs that will create a sustainable and smart alternative, by reducing carbon dioxide emissions released into the air by cement production processes. He also noted that the conference will host more than 45 private and public enterprises and researchers from over 16 countries, to exchange scientific and technical expertise on premixed advanced dry materials.
Dr. Abdulaziz Saeed Al Muhairi, Director of Sharjah Health Authority, Salim Ali Al Ghaith, Director of Sharjah TV, Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, Assistant Director of Sharjah Center for Astronomy and Space Sciences, and Majid Hamad Al Sweidi, Director of Local Promotions Department - Tourism and Commerce Development Authority, thanked the University of Sharjah and praised the cooperation with UoS on organizing such conferences for the service and development of UAE's community.
