University of Sharjah Launches the First Innovation & Entrepreneurship Training Program

Under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of University of Sharjah, and Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, Prof. Radhi Al Zubaidi, Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development at UoS, inaugurated the First Innovation & Entrepreneurship Training Program. Organized by the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development in collaboration with University of Málaga and the European Society, the training program features workshops presented by Prof. Alvaro Simon de Blas and Prof. Victor José Tienda Flores from University of Málaga, and Prof. Giordano Dutcher from the European Society.

At the beginning of the inauguration, His Excellency Chancellor of UoS welcomed the participant deans, heads of departments and faculty members of the various colleges of UoS and participants in the program from outside the University. On his part, Prof. Radhi Al Zubaidi noted that the training program is launched for the first time in collaboration with European universities to discuss innovation and innovative tools in scientific research and learn about the scientific methodology. Hosting 46 participants, the program will be giving certificates from three entities: University of Sharjah, University of Málaga and the European Society, continued Dr. Al Zubaidi. 

On the first day of the training program, workshops focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, research and development, tools of innovation, and how to transform an idea into a project. Workshops on the second day hosted a discussion on start-up ventures, how to prepare a new business plan, and addressed the academic methodologies that must be followed in innovative-technology-based companies, as well as taking into consideration legal affairs and intellectual property protection. The third day of the training program will approach the subject of business incubators within the new environment of entrepreneurship, the orientations, standards and best practices in such environment, as well as showcasing some models on the process of preparing the facilitation program.
