6 August 2017
H.E. Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University Sharjah extended his warm congratulations to H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi, a member of the supreme council, ruler of Sharjah and president of the University of Sharjah because all the academic programs offered in the Faculty of Business Administration has gained international accreditation from the American Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) recently.
Dr. Al Naimiy affirmed that such accreditation is in all aspects an achievement at the international level and represents practically the executive steps taken by the University of Sharjah in the context of its scientific revolution that it started in the last few years under the directions of its president, H.H. Ruler of Sharjah aiming to strengthen the position of the University of Sharjah scientifically.
The Chancellor of the University asserted that such achievement was made only by (5%) of the total universities worldwide i.e. (795) scientific institutions, indicating that the academic programs offered by the faculty of business administration at the University of Sharjah for all scientific grades covered by this accreditation include: Executive MBA, MBA, Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, economy, administrative information systems and business administration.
Prof. Hamid Al Naimiy added that during the next two weeks the University will receive international accreditation from the American Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) for the rest of the programs offered by the Faculty of Engineering and all the programs offered by the Faculty of Science stating that this international board has delegated a committee of experts and international specialists to these two faculties, and they examined all the programs offered by the two faculties. The preliminary reports they have prepared praised these programs and this was also confirmed during the meeting held between H.H. Ruler of Sharjah and the members of the committee at the end of their visit to the University of Sharjah
In addition, the Chancellor of the University said that the Faculty of Communications at the University of Sharjah has gained one month ago the academic accreditation from the American Accreditation Board for Communication.
He concluded that these international academic accreditations, with the previous ones and those following- God Willing – form a part of the University plans to obtain the international accreditation for all the academic programs offered by its faculties and academic departments and that these programs were designated to serve that objective, especially because all these programs had originally obtained the national academic accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
