Banks nowadays are one of the major things in the business world, and the financial economy is built and affected by them, conventional banks and Islamic ones are both important in our region and have a lot of customers. Their first concern is how they operate and perform, especially when it comes to a word with different nationalities, religions and requirements, this research has the measures and the analysis for two banks (DIB and ENBD) and it shows the differences between rations, banks statements, their history and a lot more.
After comparing, the results showed that ENBD has more profits with a better performance and that goes back to the number of customers that it has with a good management, on the other hand DIB performance is getting better and has improved strongly in the past years which makes it one of the best Islamic banks in the region.

The objective of our project is twofold: 1- To explore small business management dynamics in the United Arab Emirates by reducing the gap between theory and practice. 2- To investigate the challenges faced by a small business in the UAE. For this purpose we employed case study approach to study a real world small business in the UAE. We collected our data through face-to-face interview with the owner. The owner was asked to outline his responses towards selected theoretical concepts such as human resource, marketing, competitive analysis, and location/layout design. We found that the business employs price-skimming strategy without promotional schemes to the customers. Our selected business employs guerilla-marketing tactics such as the use of social media. We also found that our selected business face some challenges in terms of 1. Finding highly skilled labor 2. Limited availability of parking 3. Bliss flowers seek perfection, which overwhelm the employees in certain situations causing stress. Lastly, we also proposed some recommendations to overcome the challenges faced by “Bliss Flowers”.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the effect of portfolio selection on risk minimization. Co-relation between risk minimization and diversification of portfolio; an investment strategy also known as optimal portfolio is studied with other contributing factors.
Methodology/Approach- Using a sample of 30 NYSE-listed companies from different sectors and sub-sectors, historical data from 2007 to 2012 is used to identify steps in determining a set of portfolio with minimal risk. Modeling has been done using statistical tools in Microsoft Excel. The lesser the variance in portfolio, the minimal the risk is.
Findings- The results show that risk can be minimized by selecting a diversified portfolio, i.e assets from different sectors and sub-sectors that are co-related as less as possible. By modeling different sets of portfolio, it is possible to determine an optimal portfolio.
Research limitation- Only a few sets of portfolio have been modeled in the spreadsheet, and they include 30 companies. Another research limitation is the fact that modeling has been done incluincluding firms from only one market – the New York Stock Exchange .

This paper discusses the implication of risk and return on real estate sector in Dubai, UAE. It studies and analyzes the risk and return of all listed real estate companies in Dubai Financial Market (DFM). Real estate investment began 20 years ago in Dubai and has gained momentum before suffering a setback during the financial crisis, and after that regained some progress.
This paper discusses the performance of real estate companies in 2013 through evaluating some statistical financial measures such as Variance, Correlation Coefficient, etc… It was observed that high risk does not necessarily reflect a high return in real estate sector, and also high correlation with the market does not always guarantee a higher rate of return as proven in the report

This project is basically about the "social media privacy awareness rate between university students in the UAE". We chose this topic because social media privacy is a serious issue and had been raised in many social and academic platforms; and the privacy issue specifically can be a threat to many people and students because usually people share private information and maybe pictures on those social media platforms.
This is a qualitative research and our instrument was questionnaires filled up by students of the University of Sharjah and other universities in the UAE. In the questionnaire, we focused on aspects such as the purpose and the frequency of using the social media and then we moved to the privacy; whether students are aware of it and if yes what's their attitude towards it and what actions do they take to preserve their privacy on social media. So far and with the available results, we found that most of the students are aware that their social media accounts aren’t private to them only and their followers; but the fact that they can't quit social media especially for networking and online studies makes them ignorant about this fact. Through some observations also, we found that some students think that as long as they are not celebrities, then there is no harm of their information being publicized on the internet; thinking that no one would ever use it in unfavorable ways .

The aim of this paper is to establish relationship between the type of ownership and agency cost. It looks for proving the claim that more diverse management has higher agency cost by examining different types of businesses in UK from four broad industries (manufacturing, transportation, communication and trade). The paper’s hypothesis is built upon that expansion of ownership results in aggregation of agency cost by different means. We have included different categories ownerships, ranging from family owned business to corporate business. In accordance to the research and based on the classifications we have mentioned, we have supported our findings statistically using T-tests and supporting it by P-values which indicates that the hypothesis set by this paper is correct and dependent in all cases.

The purpose of this project is to review and demonstrate how Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) can be employed to select the best airline organisation. The AHP technique can make the analysis studies more effective, easy and applicable for organisations to calculate the relative weights of each criterion, sub-criterion and specific sub-criterion of airline organisations. AHP is a method that uses hierarchical structure in order to help decision makers to get the best selection from several options or criteria. The hierarchy used for this project is to illustrate the three main criteria (cost, facilities, and quality) that airline organisations consider when adopting a new change. This project used AHP to determine the best criteria from the point of view of the customers within the three airline organisations (Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways and Air Arabia) investigated. Overall, the results presented from this model under AHP are meant to be descriptive of the decision process of five participants within each of three airline organisations. The results in this study suggest that quality and cost are the dominant criteria, while facilities seem less important within these three airline organisations.

The purpose of this project is to develop a mobile application that is environmentally friendly. It’s about an application that is used by the restaurant owners who are willing to go green and follow an ecosystem for their cooking oil disposal process. On the other hand, the application is also used by the driver of the truck that will be collecting the oil and sending it to places that is specialized in refining used oil. As societies are becoming increasingly aware of the fact that the recycling of used cooking oil is a real necessity. The waste generated from used cooking oil is currently the main cause of pollution in urban water, which is a direct consequence of its uncontrolled disposal as well as its negative effect on humanity. We’ve provided the solution for this problem through the development of the application which will make the collection process time, cost efficient and easier for its users.

Motivation is “Internal and external factors that stimulate desire and energy in people to be continually interested and committed to a job, role or subject, or to make an effort to attain a goal.” The role of motivation in the teaching-learning process is very important, because it is of paramount importance to student success. But what if the students lack motivation? What if that need does not exist? Those are the questions that we are seeking to answer, because as students grow, their passion for learning frequently seems to shrink. Motivation plays an important role in one's overall development, which is why students must be motivated in order to succeed and achieve the maximum results in their work. Our project’s goal was to find out why do some students lack motivation and what are the factors that contribute with that. Afterwards we found different ways to overcome them, and increase the student's motivation in order to work harder and succeed. We developed our own hypothesis and collected information through a survey that was distributed to the students. the key findings surprised us all, based on percentage that we calculated, the main reason behind the lack of motivation in students are the family members and the University professors neither the friends nor the team mates and later on we provided some solution for this problem.

Since technology is integrating in our daily lives, including our academic lives. This research aims to find whether technology increased students' acts of cheating and plagiarism.
There is no doubt that the act increased, however, the impact of technology could be negative or positive. Technology is sword with two edges. It can be used positively in order to increase the academic outcomes, or negatively in order to cheat and plagiarize.

The reviews on this research's literature were used to support the paper. The most common finding from the relevant literature was that when students plagiarized using the internet is perceived as less dishonest than a similar act of plagiarism using printing sources.
The paper was supported by a surgery that was distributed to a sample of University of Sharjah students

The Islamic finance sector is experiencing a rapid growth, especially with the increased interest towards it post the 2008 financial crisis. Thus, it continues to face a growing competition from an older, more experienced conventional banking sector. Islamic financial institutions therefore, need to analyze the awareness and attitudes of bank customers towards Islamic finance in order to increase customer retention. The purpose of this paper is to examine bank users’ perception of and attitudes towards Islamic finance as well as their bank selection criteria. It presents primary data collected from a sample of 132 bank users in the UAE and the use of ANOVA and Pearson correlation for analysis.
The results show that there are certain demographic variables that influence respondent attitudes but religion and type of bank account used are the most significant. Furthermore, reputation, convenience, and the availability of checking and saving accounts are important factors when selecting a bank regardless of the respondent’s religion .
