The College of Sciences at University of Sharjah is organizing “The 3rd Sharjah Science Festival” (3rd SSF) which will be held on Wednesday & Thursday, February 5th-6th, 2013 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. The College of Sciences invites all of UoS students to participate in the Poster Competition for a chance to present projects and summarize course work and win CASH prizes.
 
What kind of Participation?
 
Students should prepare a POSTER summarizing their current Graduation projects (for Seniors) or a topic of interest related to the courses they are currently registered in (2nd, 3rd or 4th year students).
 
Why should I participate?
 
Poster presentation in the 3rd SSF will be a good chance for you to get together with other students to interact and exchange ideas that will enhance your knowledge of various science applications. This in addition to valuable cash prizes for best posters and certificates for all students.
 
Who can participate?
 
1- Current UoS students.
2- Senior students registered in Graduation projects and the other graduating courses.
3- Junior and sophomore students registered in different courses.
 
Topics
 
1.Research : Senior projects (Fall 2013-2014).
2.Course work : Different courses (2nd, 3rd and 4th Year) (Fall 2013-2014).
 
Important Deadline
 
Submission of the final draft to the Poster Committee by 26/12/ 2013, on the following website: http://www.sharjah.ac.ae/en/Media/Conferences/SSF/
 
Poster Format
 
Poster size: Should be 80 cm wide and 100 cm height, submitted in JPEG or PSD format
Design: posters can have different designs depend on the topic. Ideally, posters must contain the UoS logo as well as the departments’ logo, a title, abstract, introduction, methodology, results, conclusion, acknowledgements and references (consult your supervisor).
Hint: Make sure your poster is on one topic. Do not try to include too many ideas or activities on your poster. A single message, clearly illustrated, is more effective.
