Dr Haifa Madi received her MBBS in Medicine from the University of Jordan and holds a Master Degree in International Public Health, Harvard School of Public Health and is a graduate of the Middle East Educational Fellowship Programme, J.F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.

Dr Madi, is currently the Director of Health Protection and Promotion at WHO/EMRO managing and directing the different units under this Division including maternal and reproductive health, child and adolescent health, school health, nutrition, health promotion, health education, health of elderly, violence and injuries, oral health and occupational. Before
 
Prior to joining her current post, Dr Madi was the Acting Director of Health, Deputy Director of Health and Chief, Health protection and Promotion of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees responsible for the different components of the Health programme of Refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank and Gaza.

Part of Dr Madi’s experience was working with UNFPA as the Regional Reproductive Health Advisor for Arab States. 
 
In addition to the above-mentioned, Dr Madi has more than 16 years of experience as a practising physician in primary health care, including maternal and child health care, family planning and school health in both public and private sectors.    

Dr Madi is the author of several published research in the Lancet and the Eastern Mediterranean Health Journal, and she is a member of several Regional and Global Committees.
